Elizabeth M. Connell's Obituary
CONNELL, ELIZABETH IRBY died December 13, 2006 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born July 30, 1918 in Foreston, Texas to Robert Dudley Irby and Jestany Ellis Irby. She graduated from North Texas State University and taught school in the Dallas Independent School District from which she retired. She married William Lee Connell Jr., her childhood sweetheart, March 7, 1942 in Galveston, Texas while he was serving in the Army. They were married by Bill’s father, William Lee Connell, a Methodist minister. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, William, daughter Catherine Connell Stryker and husband Richard, and her grandchildren, Amanda, Alan, and Julia Stryker. She is also survived by her niece, grandnieces, nephews, grandnephews and cousins. There will be a Graveside Service at Restland in Dallas on Friday, December 15, 2006 at 1 pm. Words of thanks are inadequate to express the gratitude Betty’s husband and daughter feel for the excellent care provided by everyone at JMJ Residential Home, Vista Care Hospice, and Dr. Coleen Madigan in Corpus Christi, Texas.
