Elizabeth Shelby Crawford's Obituary
Elizabeth (Shelby) Crawford was born April 26, 1921 to William and Bonnie Shelby in Mulberry (Fannin County), Texas. Elizabeth, 94, passed away on February 2, 2016. She was a long-time member of Meadow View Church of Christ in Mesquite, TX. She was a Life Member of the American Ex-Prisoners of War (Dallas Metroplex Chapter), a Member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign War, and a Life Member Ladies Auxiliary, Military Order of the Purple Heart (Dallas Chapter 542). Elizabeth was a loving, nurturing and caring wife and Mother. She was the foundation and rock her family depended on. Elizabeth is survived by her daughters Geniva and husband Mike Judah of Mesquite, TX; Nancy and husband Creighton Gales of Frisco, TX; step-son Gary and Pat Crawford of Midlothian, TX.; daughter-in-law Anita Vaught and sister Mary Lou Wolfe of Beebe, AR. Elizabeth also leaves behind her grandchildren Robby and Jennifer McCollom; Jason and Kelly Helbert; Sabrina Saltzman and Chris Hickey; Shelley and Chris Copple; Tammy Alcala; Alice and Simon Watson; and James Vaught. Elizabeth leaves behind a number of great-grandchildren and numerous other family and friends. In addition to her Mother and Father, she was preceded in death by her sons Dewyane and Richard Vaught, five brothers and two sisters. Elizabeth is also preceded in death by her husbands Howard Vaught and James Crawford. Contributions may be made to Meadow View Church of Christ in Mesquite, Texas. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2016 from 5-7 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be held on Friday, February 5, 2016 at 10 AM at Restland Wildwood Chapel.
