Elizabeth Nell Davis' Obituary
Elizabeth Nell Davis entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior and the place He prepared especially for her on Monday, December 28, 2020.
Our family is forever grateful that we were granted permission to visit Nell, comfort her and say our goodbyes in her final days.
Nell was born the oldest of three children, in Palestine, TX on December 7th, 1932 to Sammie Nell and Don Craft. Palestine, was Nell’s hometown where she grew up with her sister, Janice and brother Donnie, attended school and met her husband and love of her life, Jack Davis. They married in Dec of 1951 and began what would become numerous moves to new cities and new homes. Nell never complained and was always up for a new adventure. Their first child was born in 1956 and this was the start of Nell’s primary purpose in life, being a mother. She and Jack had three children, Stan , Sherrie and Steve . Nell was a stay at home, hands on mom and passionately dedicated to their upbringing.
Nell was an accomplished seamstress and spent countless hours sewing outfits, costumes, and doll clothes for her kids and grandkids. She also loved babies…all babies, and volunteered in the nursery at Children’s Medical Center for many years and then she had grandkids of her own. They called her Mimi and she cherished each and every one of them. Nell also loved to drive. She and Jack purchased a fifth wheel travel trailer after retirement and Nell took her turn driving them all over the country.
Nell and Jack were active and current members of First Baptist Church in Garland, TX
Nell is preceded in death by her two parents and sister Janice. She is survived by husband, Jack Davis; Brother, Don Craft; Son, Stan Davis and his wife Kim; Daughter, Sherrie Davis Anderson and her husband Keith; Son, Steve Davis and his wife Stephanie. She had seven grandchildren: Erin, Chase, Amanda, Carli, Donnelly, Camryn, Sean and four great grandchildren: Reese, Harper, Wesley and Wyatt.
There will be a family graveside service for Nell on January 5, 2021.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to First Baptist Church in honor of Elizabeth Nell Davis.
