Elizabeth "Missie" Elaine Coffee's Obituary
Elizabeth (Missie) Elaine Coffee, wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend passed away peacefully Saturday, March 3rd, 2018 after a long fought battle in Carrollton, TX.The Memorial Service will be help on Thursday, March 22nd at 1:00 pm at Christ United Methodist Church 2807 Valwood Pkwy, Farmers Branch, TX , officiated by Rev. Kenny Dickson. Interment will be privately held by the family.Missie was born in Dallas, TX to Mavis Fay Fleming and Charles P. Fleming on September 11, 1955. She attended and graduated from W.T. White High School. She graduated with a bachelor degree in Microbiology from Texas Tech University. She married Malcolm Loyd Coffee on May 20th, 1978 at Lovers Lane Methodist in Dallas, TX. Missie retired from Abbott Laboratories in 2015 after 33 years in system integration. While at Abbott, Missie had many achievements and awards. In 2004 she received the highest honor , The Chairman’s Award from Abbott for her work during Hurricane Katrina.Missie is survived by her husband of 39 years, Malcolm, daughter, Allison Coffee and many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of dear friends.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to:Foundation for Cancer at www.foundationforwomenscancer.orgChrist United Methodist Church at www.christ4u.orgThe family of Missie wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Charles Connor, Dr. Todd Odom, Dr. Shannon Westin, the staff at Medical City of Plano, the staff at Select Specialty Hospital in Carrollton and all the friends and family who were there to laugh, cry and love with Missie and her family through her tough battle; we are truly blessed.
