Elizabeth Little's Obituary
Little, Elizabeth “Lib” as she was called by her friends and family, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 7, 2009. Born May 15, 1912, in Rockdale, Texas, the youngest child of Dr. Gordon Byron and Alyne Poole Renfrow, she was predeceased by her husband of 71 years, J.E. (Jack) Little Jr., her sister Gordon Bernadine Farmer and her brother William Hamlett Renfrow. Lib is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Jack E. and Carolyn Little of Houston and son and daughter-in-law Jim M. and Pam Little of Jacksonville, Florida; her four grandchildren: Alison English and husband Mark of College Station, Texas; Jack E. Little Jr. and wife Jill of Houston; Kathie Little of Charlotte, North Carolina; and Kim Jordan and husband Mike, also of Charlotte, North Carolina; six great-grandchildren Brittney, Abigayle and Carley English; Brandon, David and Elizabeth Little; and step-grandson Parker Clowers of Jacksonville, Florida. Lib lived most of her life in Dallas, Texas. She graduated from Oak Cliff High School and attended what is now the University of Texas at Arlington. She and J.E. lived in University Park for almost 62 years. They were active in Highland Park United Methodist Church. She loved to travel, was an avid bridge player and a super cook. She relocated to Houston in early 2007 after J.E.’s death. Elizabeth Little will be remembered by all who knew her as a loving and devoted wife, a wonderful mother who would do anything for her boys’, and a loyal friend to many. Services will be held in Dallas on Monday, April 13, at 12:30 PM in the Wildwood Chapel, Restland Memorial Park, with burial to follow. The family requests that should any one wish to remember Lib, that in lieu of flowers, a contribution be made to the Methodist Children’s Home, 1111 Herring Ave., Waco, Texas, 76708, or to a charity of their choosing.
