Elizabeth G. Smiley's Obituary
Elizabeth “GG” Smiley was born October 16, 1910, in Lynchburg, Virginia, to parents Edna Elizabeth O’Holloran and Eugene Vaughan Greene. GG transitioned to heaven surrounded by her family on April 15, 2012 in McKinney, Texas. She was 101 years old. GG asked Jesus to be her Savior in 1933. She dedicated her life to intercessory prayer, scripture memorization and giving to missions. GG never met a stranger and once you got on her prayer list, you stayed there. At 101 the list was mighty long! She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Mary Ruth Rose, in 1990 and by her brothers, Bill Greene in 1979 and Eugene Greene in 1993. She is survived by her granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Robbins, husband Warren Robbins and great grandchildren Daniel, Carolyn and husband Josiah, Rachel, Jacob, Caleb, Joshua, Rebekah and Samuel. And by her granddaughter, Charmione Marcell, husband Tyler and great grandchildren Arianna and Rinnah. Visitation will be at 10:00AM, Friday, April 20, 2012 at Restland Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 11:00AM at Restland Memorial Park. A memorial service will follow that afternoon at 3:00 pm at Parkway Baptist Church, 5600 Virginia Pkwy, McKinney, Texas. We are so grateful to all who have cared for GG through the years and who have given support to our families. May the Lord bless you!
