Elizabeth Jane Smith's Obituary
Elizabeth Jane Glander Smith, 93, a native of New Jersey but claimed Texas as her home for over 60 years, entered Heaven’s gates Sept. 5, 2017. Elizabeth lived life to its fullest every day. Being an outdoor ad- venturer, she enjoyed traveling to the beach and living at the lake, especially when she had Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren al- ways put a smile on her face. Her homemade chocolate pies, crumb cakes, and chocolate cookies were a staple for family visits as her home was the center of family celebrations. She enjoyed going to her personal trainer three days a week prior to her stroke and above all she enjoyed life. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Mina Glander, her five sisters, her husband Clarence Poole Smith and her son Clark EdgarSmith. She is survived by her son Bruce Smith and wife Kay of Dripping Springs, her daughter Judy Smith Pierce and her husband B.G. Pierce of Tool, daughter-in-law Marcia Tyler Smith of Littleton, Colo., grandchildren Daryl Smith, Nathan Smith, Natalie Smith McNeill and husband Curtis, Amanda Smith Woods and husband Joe, Sarah Smith Sellers and husband Tommy and nine beautiful great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and friends. Funeral services were held Sept. 9, 2017, at St. Peter Lutheran Church Gun Barrel City. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the St. Peter Lutheran Church. Her family and friends treasured the almost 94 years she blessed us with her smile, grace, home cooking, hard love taps, active lifestyle and generosity of unconditional love. Proverbs 31:25 is a verse the exemplifies her life, “she is clothed with strength and dignity and laughs without fear of the future. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
