Ella Janell Fitz Maurer's Obituary
Ella Janell Fitz Maurer (Janell) was born November 22, 1926 in Marquez, Texas. She went to be with the Lord November 27, 2013 in Evergreen, Colorado at the age of 87. Janell was a graduate of Leon High School in Jewett, Texas and Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. She taught school in Leon County, in the Rio Grand Valley, in Kingsville, Corpus Christi and in Dallas. She and her late husband Robert Herman Maurer (Bobby) were married 62 years and resided in Dallas 30 years where they were active members of Park Cities Baptist Church. They lived many years in Kingsville and Corpus Christi before moving to Dallas. She is survived by three children, Paul Maurer of Harlingen, George Maurer of San Perlita and Suzanne Solomon (Gary) of Idaho Springs, Colorado; brother, John H. Fitz of Houston; and five grandchildren, Aaron Cloud of Denver, Anne Cloud Politzki (Nick) of Lakewood, CO, Michael Rudolph of Denver, CO, Mia Maurer of San Perlita, Mac Maurer of San Perlita. Janell was preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister, Bess Fritter, Dilmas, Orville, Doyle, Heston, Robert Earl, Jack, Joe Allen and parents, Robert F. and Bertha Lee Fitz. Funeral services will be Saturday, Nov. 30 at 3 pm at Restland Memorial Chapel in Dallas. Memorial contributions may be made to RGSC Citizen Volunteer Council at the Rio Grande State Center, POB 451, Harlingen, TX 78550. “Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord”.
