Ellen Copeland Stead's Obituary
STEAD, ELLEN COPELAND was born in May 1924 in Mexia, TX and passed away on December 9, 2010 in Dallas, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Cora Copeland; brothers, Rufus, Joseph and Richard Copeland; sisters, Ida Mac Mattingly, Effie Bales and Elizabeth Thompson. She is survived by her devoted husband of over 66 years, Dick; her son, Rick and his wife, Terri; her daughter, Janice and her husband, Les Tanzer; grandsons: Michael Forrest and wife, Erin, Brian Forrest, Brandon Stead and Jared Stead; numerous nieces and nephews and special friends, Curtis and Beverly Randolph. Ellen was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, enjoyed working woth flowers and ceramics, was a member of several civic service organizations and a dedicated volunteer at First Presbyterian Church in Richardson, Tx where she was a member for 55 years. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at 2:00PM, at First Presbyterian Church, 319 LaSalle in Richardson, TX. Officiating will be Rev. David Fletcher. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
