Elliot Navarro Jr's Obituary
Elliott Navarro Jr, 77 of Irving, Texas, passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 25, 2025. Born in Waco, Texas, December 29th 1947 to Elliott Navarro Sr September 15, 1905-September 29, 1965 and Cayetana Martinez Navarro August 7, 1906-April 20, 1997.
Elliott’s achievements were many; Batchelor’s of Arts degree / University of Houston 1973; Master’s of Science in Social work degree/ University of Texas at Arlington 1978.
Elliott was activist & worked to champion Civil rights. A member of the Mexican American Youth Organization MAYO; Served as a member of La Raza Unida Party Houston, Texas Chapter. He volunteered for the Workers’ Defense. He advocated for the rights of Mexican Americans.
His career highlights include: Mexican/American Student Advisor for Southern Methodist University, Social Worker for the County of Dallas, Adult Probation Officer as well as a Juvenile Probation officer. Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. Elliott also hosted a radio program for KLVU called “Mexican-American Picture” 1981. A 3rd degree Black Belt.
Elliott is remembered loving by his son Christopher E Navarro, sisters: Rachel Foster, Eloise Navarro and brother Raymond Navarro.
He reunites with his siblings: Rudolph Navarro February 2019; Raymundo Navarro October 2004; Richard Navarro March 2024; Hijoel Navarro December 2023; & Delores Acton 2024.
