Eloise Wofford Moore's Obituary
MOORE, ELOISE WOFFORD born November 11, 1913 to James T. and Julia R. Wofford and passed away on January 9, 2013. Preceded in death by her husband of forty nine years, H. D. “Ike” Moore. She leaves a loving family consisting of two sons, Phil A. Moore and his wife Debby of Little Elm, Texas and Michael B. Moore and his wife Anita of Wichita, Kansas. She had seven grandchildren of Kelly and Casey, Amanda and Zachary, and Brian, Tip and Michelle. She had 6 great grandchildren serveral nieces and nephews. She was born in Tucumcari, New Mexico and moved to Electra, Texas at the age of eight. She married H.D. “Ike” Moore and moved to Vernon, Texas. She was a loving and devoted wife who supported his career. He often gave her credit for his success in the oil business. He started a rewarding career of sixteen years with the Waggoner Estate in Vernon, Texas and then to Rock Island Refining Company of Koch Industries in Wichita, Kansas. Later, he became Vice President of Sinclair Oil Corp. in New York where the family settled in Greenwich, Ct. They eventually moved back to Wichita when Ike became President of Derby Refining Company. Then to Houston and Dallas where they retired. Eloise loved her relatives and many friends in the various Bible study groups at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas. She was a member of the P.E.O. Sorority, Chapter AR where she cherished her companionship with her sorority sisters. She attended Midwestern University and studied Drama & Voice and gave willingly of her talents in church choirs and activities. She also enjoyed 18th Century Decoupage and gave many pieces of her work to close friends and relatives. Her friends considered her to be the consummate hostess and appreciated her kindness towards others. She talked about, and looked forward to, God’s Grace and was a student of the Bible her entire life. Internment will be private at Restland Funeral Home and services will be held on January 19, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. at Restland Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Prestonwood Baptist Church, 6801 West Park Blvd., Plano, Texas 75093 or the charity of choice.
