Elsie was one of three girls in our family and the only one that I ever got to know
well as the other two were older and off to join the war effort before I started school. I remember her red hair and freckles that were as numerous as my own. She was my disciplinarian at school and kept me out of a lot of trouble. Our phone conversations, always shifted to her kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she loved
very much.I know that they all will miss her as much as I will. Godspeed big sister.

My Aunt Elsie was a kind and loving woman. Our families visited often while we were growing up. My first memory is of staying at her house in Dallas while my Dad took Mom to the hospital for the birth of my brother. She commiserated with me about having freckles as a child. I will always remember her smile and quiet chuckle.
