Elsie Mae Sperling's Obituary
Elsie Mae Sperling, age 78, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2019 in Garland, Texas of ovarian cancer. She was born February 24, 1941 to Robert Sylvester Wolverton and Delia Wolverton in Ector, Texas. She married Sylvester John Sperling on October 17, 1959 in Garland, Texas. Elsie loved being with her family and friends. She had the best smile and the biggest heart, full of so much love and joy. Elsie also deeply loved Jesus; her love for him shown so bright for others to see. For 44 years she attended Lavon Drive Baptist Church, and devotedly served in their children’s program for 36 years.Elsie is survived by her husband of 59 years, Sylvester Sperling of Garland Texas; her son, Allen Sperling and his wife Annette of Garland, Texas;and their three children,Blake,Tyler and Emily Sperling; her daughter, Rhonda Novak of Sachse, Texas; her three granddaughters that she raised, Lindsey Hultman and husband Dustin of Denver, Colorado; Lauren Dominguez and husband Aaron of Garland, Texas; and Leiah Nicholson and her husband Marshall of Aurora, Colorado. She is also survived by her sweet sister, Peggy Pitt and her not-so-sweet husband Sonny of Wylie, Texas; and her baby brother, Lloyd Wolverton and his wife, Pat of Athens, Texas;her eight great-grandchildren, Ethan Eubanks, Meiah Dominguez, Nora, Jane, and Kate Nicholson, and Oliver, Everley and Archer Hultman.In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Lavon Drive Baptist Church bus ministry or American Cancer Society.Visitation will be held on April 5, 2019, from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on April 6, 2019, at 1:00 pm at Lavon Drive Baptist Church.
