Elvira Rodriguez Castillo's Obituary
Elvira Castillo passed away peacefully in her home of Dallas Texas on May 9, 2022. Elvira is preceded in death by her parents Leo and Herminia Rodriguez, her husband Reynaldo Castillo, brothers Albino Rodriguez and Jessie Rodriguez sister Ramona Rodriguez, son Bobby Castillo and great-granddaughter Rena Gonzales. Left behind to cherish her memories is her sister, Teresa Ybarra, daughters Carmen Morales, Sylvia Castillo and daughter-in-law Edith Castillo. Elvira was known to her 13 grandchildren as "MOMO" Andrew Acosta, Adrian Acosta, Barbara Garza and husband Alfred Garza, Jasmine Morales, Freddie Perez, Sylvia Perez (also her God-daughter), Ernesto Gonzales, Steve Perez, Cynthia Perez, Michelle Watson, Raymond Castillo, Christopher Castillo, Kristen Castillo and Bobby Castillo. Elvira Castillo has 50 great-grandchildren and 9 Great-Great-Grandchildren who will miss her dearly.
Elvira was born July 28, 1936 and was married to the man of her dreams, Reynaldo Castillo for over 50 years. She was the light of his life and he called her his "Yellow Rose of Texas". They settled down in a house in Dallas, Texas and they raised 3 beautiful children. She was the caretaker of so many grandchildren and even great-grandchildren. Often, family would gather at their house for birthday parties, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Elvira loved to decorate for all occasions and was always welcoming to everyone who came. She loved to garden in the front and backyard of her home. She liked to attend church on Sundays, reading and watching old western shows. She liked to listen to her record player, dance and sing her heart out. Elvira was dancing up until the very end. She was in good spirits in her last days. She was always happy to see everyone who came to visit her. She will be greatly missed and her memory will forever live on within our hearts.
A Service for Elvira will be held in the Memorial Chapel at Restland Memorial Park on Monday, May 23, 2022 at 2:00 PM. Her Visitation will be held at Restland Funeral Home on Sunday, May 22, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
