Elwanda “Sister” Franklin of Garland, Texas born December 8, 1922 in Salmon, Texas went to be with her Lord on December 31, 2014. Preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Nora Hopper; sisters, Loys Brede and Melba Lollar; brother, Chester Hopper, Jr.; husband of 64 years, James Franklin. Elwanda is survived by her son, Mike Franklin of Garland, Texas; daughter, Pat Jones of Murphy, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. The visitation for Elwanda Franklin will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, January 2, 2015 at Restland Funeral Home. The service for Elwanda will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Freeman Heights Baptist Church, 1120 North Garland Avenue, Garland, Texas 75040. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
