She was such a sweet and wonderful person, that always made feel like I was part of the family. She was my second Mom and I loved spending time with everyone. She always had food ready for anyone who was hungry and the way she cooked, well she should have opened a restaurant. She will be greatly missed!
To the most wonderful Mom #1 & Mom #2, a wonderful Grandma to our children, gracious hostess with the mostest, welcoming any and everyone into your home and life with such humbleness and a huge heart, all around beautiful lady inside and out! Grandma, we love you so much-thank you for all of the wonderful memories, great times, excellent advice, your love and support through all of the ups and downs in life. You have been an inspiration to so many lives throughout your own. We spent several hours last night looking through photos and remembering so many good and fun times with you. Sharing our memories and thoughts with each other and building an even closer bond as a family through our deep love and respect for you. She was a great woman and part of a generation that taught respect and love for one another. She was a great wife and mother to not only her family but to all of the kids that grew up on our street. She was always welcoming to all of us. I always remember showing up at her house in the morning on the weekends and she would always invite me to have breakfast with the family. She was part of a great group of parents on our street that treated all of us as if we were their child. All of us were blessed to be a part of a street of great kids and parents like her. I turned out to be a better person because of the love she gave all of us and taught me to love and respect others. Thank God for bringing my family to the street and to see how real parents are supposed to be. Look forward to seeing her again in heaven and thank her for being the angel she was to all of us. May your spirit watch over and protect all of us till we see each other again! Pray God to comfort those who are hurting from the loss and wrap his loving arms around all of us, Amen! There is a special place in heaven for this wonderful lady. She taught me so many things growing up. There were often more kids than she could possibly count running wildly through her home at all hours yet she was always welcoming and full of love for all of us. I don't remember a single scolding even thought I am certain we deserved many. Her sand tarts and other homemade goodies were legendary and are a memory I will never forget. Rest easy Ms. Perkins. i will always remember. I know the trumpets were sounding loudly upon your arrival….and I'm betting my sister was in charge of the music. Tell her hi for me.
