Embry K. Carter's Obituary
Embry K. Carter, longtime Dallas resident, loving wife and mother, passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on December 3, 2021, in Houston.
She was preceded in death by her husband Morris G. Garter, daughter Beverly Kennemer, and grandson Neal Kennemer. She is survived by her daughter Connie Stahl, Amarilllo, son & daughter-in-law Gary & Janine Carter, Waller, and grandchildren Leslie Kennemer, Ethan Carter and Lindsey Carter, and a sister & brother-in-law, Barbara & Homer Pennington, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and about 1.2 million friends.
Born in Custer County, Oklahoma, in 1929, she was the daughter of Bob & Florence Galbraith. Her early years were spent on a farm in Bertram, Texas. When she was ten, the family moved to Denton. She was a graduate of the North Texas Demonstration School at North Texas Teachers College, now UNT.
She married Morris Gray Carter in Dallas in 1949, where they raised their family and resided until his death in 1991. She later moved to Denton, and in 2005 to the Houston area to be near her son. She was active in the church and in various volunteer activities, and always had a smile.
The service will held at the graveside on Monday, December 13, 2021 at 2:00pm at Restland Memorial Park - 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas 75243.
