Emily Evelyn Cobb's Obituary
Age 92, of Dallas, Texas passed away from complications of a malignant olfactory neuroblastoma on 4/12/2010 at Juliette Fowler Homes in Dallas. She was born on 6/22/1917 in LaRue, Texas to her parents, Howard and Mary John Regester. Evelyn was the youngest of thirteen siblings. She married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, John Olin Cobb in Dallas, TX on 07/02/1938. They were married forty-five years and had four children. She attended Athens High School and graduated in 1934. She lived in East Dallas for 72 years. Evelyn was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, attending the Central Unit Kingdom Hall for many years. She enjoyed traveling, family get-togethers, and watching all types of sporting events on TV. Evelyn will be remembered by her children, John Cobb, Jr (Joyce) of Denison, TX; Elaine Beckway of Grand Prairie, TX; Michael Cobb (Donette) of Dallas, TX; and Kay Whittemore (Ed) of Forney, TX. She is also survived by her sister, Blanch Berry of Fort Worth, TX, eight grandchildren, Elizabeth Robertson, Diana Cardwell, Debra Burch, Kelli Keen, Laurie Jackson, James A. Beckway, Michele Whittemore, and Kevin Whittemore. She is also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren, a number of great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, eleven of her siblings, and a grandchild.
