Mr. Emlyn Rudolph Niebes' Obituary
Born April 17, 1925 in Luzerne, Iowa to Elmer and Irma Kallsen Niebes, and went to be with his Lord on May 12, 2007. Em loved his family and friends, served his country in the Navy, served in various board positions at his church and enjoyed many years of selling as a Manufactures’ Rep. He was also instrumental in starting DallasChild magazine. Em is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joyce Buvinghausen Niebes, son Craig Niebes of Athens, Texas, grandchildren Brett and Kristen; daughter Joylyn Niebes, grandchildren Lauren, Meredith and Alex Mortberg; daughter Alison Davis and son-in-law Gary Davis, Reid, Lexy and Reese Davis; Brother O.E. Niebes, Fairborn, Ohio; sister Marian Merritt, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Betty and Lloyd Van Horn, Belville, Texas and many nieces, nephews and close friends. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday May 16, 2007 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with Rev. Mark Cattau and Rev. Brent McGuire officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made in Em’s name to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church or School, 8611 Park Lane, Dallas, Texas 75225.
