Emma "Ruth" `Britton's Obituary
Britton, Emma “Ruth” age 84 of Garland, TX passed away July 28, 2014. She was born June 7, 1930 in Hermleigh, TX to Carl and Odis (Franks) Bridger. Ruth was a loving wife to William “Bill” Britton, Jr. for over 49 years. She was a wonderful home maker and she and Bill enjoyed cooking, gardening, and doing many other hobbies together. Bill was the love of her life. Ruth’s other love was her professional career. She worked over sixty years as a manicurist in the Dallas area and she spent the last forty years working at Willow Creek Hair Designers. She met so many people that became close friends to her, and she truly believed all the customers were her extended family. She loved the owners and management of Willow Creek and because of them her work was not a job but was fun. A special thanks to Wiley Flanagen, Billy Watson, Gary Fulton, and all the employees at Willow Creek. Ruth is preceded by her parents, Carl and Odis Bridger and by her loving husband, Bill Britton, Jr. She is survived by step daughter, Catherine Britton Bailey; brother-in-law, Bobby Britton and wife, Alice; nephew, Jerry Britton; niece, Cheryl Klein, and close friend, Debbie Felps. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, August 1, 2014 at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Restland Wildwood Chapel, 13005 Greenville Ave. in Dallas.
