Emma C. Smith's Obituary
Emma Smith was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She was born August 28, 1917 in Cooper, Texas; Emma passed away May 28, 2009 at home in Keller, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Merlin Morris Smith; son, Robert Morris Smith; and sisters, Veva Nell Lytle and Charlene Gaithwright. She is survived by son, Charles David and wife, Bess; daughter, Merle and husband, Dr. Carroll Phillips; daughter-in-law, Virginia Smith; 9 grandchildren, Virgil Summers, Charles Smith, Stoney Smith, Shane Phillips, Kella Hilton, Janna Flores, Leah Gamblin, Jennifer Brewster, and Jessica Coleson; as well as 16 great-grandchildren and many other beloved friends. A graveside service will be held in Emma’s honor at 12:30 pm, Monday, June 1, 2009 in Restland Memorial Park, Garden of Wisdom.
