Although her flowers were always beautiful, she said that she did not inherit her Mother’s green thumb. She really enjoyed playing Uno, Skipbo and Spinner with her grandkids. Jean held several jobs after graduating from high school. Like many young women of her age, her first job was with the US Government from 1943-1948. She was Church Hostess at Shiloh Terrace from 1968-1978. She then went to work at Eastfield College Business office from 1978-1985. When Jean and Jim moved to Arkansas, she went to work at Wal-Mart Home office in 1985 until she retired in 1988. But Jean felt her most important job and the job she was most proud of was taking care of her family.
