She enrolled at Western State College of Colorado in Gunnison and was selected to be on the Women’s Varsity Ski Team her first year there. Erica earned her Bachelor of Science at Western State and moved to Vail, where she became an instructor at Vail Ski School.
After spending ten years in Vail, Erica returned to Texas and continued her studies in the teaching fields of social studies and technology. She taught in the Texas public school system ever since.
