Ernest "Pete" Alexander Embry's Obituary
EMBRY, ERNEST “PETE” ALEXANDER of Lake Kiowa, Texas departed this life peacefully on June 4, 2013. His family was at his side as his soul entered the Kingdom of Heaven and the glory and majesty of our Heavenly Father. Pete was born in Dallas, Texas on October 11, 1936. He graduated from Forest Avenue High School and went on to play baseball at the University of Texas. After playing baseball at the University of Texas, Pete signed with the Chicago Cubs organization. He played with the Cubs for four years and then began a 35-year career in the food industry with Luby’s, Nifda and Sysco foods. He is survived by his wife Rosemary; and children Meg, Mary, Ernest, Melanie, Andrew, Suzanne, Scott and Stephanie; and Pete’s sisters, Marge Hillis, Juanita Doyle, Laura Sheffield, Francis Langford and Annette Freeman. Pete was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, Sunday school teacher and businessman. He and Rosie have 15 grandchildren. “Blessed be the tie that binds, our hearts in Christian love, the fellowship of kindred minds is like to that above.” Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Sunday, June 9, 2013 at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2:30 PM, Monday, June 10, 2013 at Restland Memorial Chapel
