Ernest Nolan Brownlee's Obituary
BROWNLEE, ERNEST For the last eight years, Ernest had been serving as Minister of Pastoral Care at Lake Pointe Town East and teacher of Adult Bible Fellowship. He and his wife Becky visited the sick in hospitals, counseled and taught. He loved to share his sketches with people and stuffed animals to small children. Ernest was born, September 4, 1926 in Oklahoma; he attended the University of Arkansas where he met his future wife. He was called away to serve in the United States Army, training as an Air Cadet during WWII. Ernest worked for Lone Star Gas, 1 Main Place, Dallas Federal Savings Bank. Ernest was the first person to earn a Certified Property Manager and Real Property Administration Certification in the state of Texas. Because there was no course or teacher, he taught the first course at SMU Business School. Ernest was an avid woodworker, making furniture and decorative items in his shop. He was an artist in pen and ink, pencil and various media and he loved to travel and sketch the scenery. He was also a poet. He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Becky Brownlee; daughters, Karen Baccellieri and husband, Carl, Kathi Sale and husband, Richard; son, Dr. Ernest Brownlee Jr. and wife Susan; his twelve grand children and eleven great grandchildren; sisters, Lorene Crowel, Ruth Morris; brother, Bill Brownlee and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Saturday, October 25, 2008 from 6:00-8:00PM, at Restland Funeral Home, the Memorial Service will be held Monday, October 27, 2008 at 2:30PM at Lake Pointe Town East Church, 3540 E Emporium Cir., Mesquite, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mary Crowley Melanoma Research Fund, 3535 Worth, Dallas, TX 75246.
