Ernest Kinkel Compton's Obituary
COMPTON, ERNEST KINKEL was born December 17, 1919 in Dallas, Texas. Ernest passed away peacefully at home with family by his side. Ernest was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He served during WW II with the 99th Signal Company. He retired from Los Angeles County and was a 55 year member of the IBEW. Ernest was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Christine J Compton; father, J.S. Compton; mother, Marie McGraw; and grandparents, Louis and Isabella Kinkel. Ernest is survived by his son, Ernie K. Compton Jr. and wife Cheri; daughters, Deborah Wadley and husband, Jim; Elodie Compton-Ward; sister Dolly Brasher; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Ernest will be missed greatly but remembered forever in our hearts. Services will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Central Church of the Nazarene in Dallas. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Friday, January 18, 2013 at Restland Funeral Home.
