Ernest A. Reyes' Obituary
Ernest A. Reyes, a loving father, brother, and esteemed member of the Dallas community, passed away on April 30, 2024, at the age of 69. He was born on April 17, 1955, to Gaspar Reyes and Stella P. Reyes from El Paso, Texas, who, along with his grandparents, preceded him in death.
Ernest leaves behind a cherished legacy and is survived by his beloved daughter, Jo Anne Elizondo, and a close-knit family including his five brothers: Michael, Richard, Mario, Martin, and Paul Reyes, as well as his sister, Rose Mary Reyes. He also leaves behind two nieces and five nephews, who held a special place in his heart.
Ernest dedicated 37 years of his life to serving the Dallas community as a distinguished Dallas Police Officer. His commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of others was unwavering, leaving a lasting impact on those he served alongside and protected.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Ernest had a zest for life and a passion for travel, particularly throughout Europe. He had the opportunity to explore the rich cultures of various countries, with Germany and The Vatican being his two favorite places. His adventurous spirit and love for experiencing new cultures enriched his life and those around him.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to DaVita Dialysis staff and Wound Care Nurses, Pam and Colleen, for their unwavering support and care during Ernest's health journey. In honor of his memory, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude Hospital or Dallas Police Association.
Ernest A. Reyes will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched, and his legacy of love, compassion, and service will endure for generations to come.
