Ernest Lee Vogt Jr.,'s Obituary
VOGT, JR., ERNEST LEE born July 2, 1920 in San Antonio, Texas and died October 20, 2013 in Dallas. Ernie grew up in Houston and graduated from Rice University in 1941 with a B.A. in Architecture. He served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater during WW II in the Army Corps of Engineers. He worked as a structural engineer in the Houston area for many years before retiring to devote time to travel, golf, and family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Melba (Woodward) and his brother, Elwood W. Vogt, Sr. Survived by sister-in-law, Nancy Vogt of Conroe; sons, Woodward L. and wife, Beverly of Houston, Steve and wife, Anna of Michigan, and daughter, Donna Carter and husband, Carey of Dallas, eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Restland Memorial Chapel. Memorial Donations may be made to: The Salvation Army or Doctors Without Borders
