Ernestine Claunch Putnam Magner's Obituary
Magner, Ernestine Claunch Putnam was born on July 2, 1917 and passed away on July 24, 2013. She was reared in Norman, Oklahoma and graduated from Norman High School and Oklahoma City Business School. She moved to Dallas in 1940, and was employed by the Frito Company in its early corporate beginning. She retired from Frito-Lay, Inc. in 1982 after 42 years of service. After retirement she remained affiliated with the Doolin Family Trusts, created under the will of C.E. Doolin, Co-Founder of Frito-Lay Inc. She was a charter member of FLARE, an association of Frito-Lay retirees. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Richardson, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, B.L. “Jack” Putnam in 1969. In 1998 she married Harold J. “Red” Magner, and moved to Tyler, Texas where she was a member of Willow Brook Country Club East Texas Petroleum Wives, and Tyler Newcomers Wives. She is preceded in death by her husband Harold J. Magner, nephew Karl Von Keller and niece Texalee Kyle. She is survived by her nephew W.T. Claunch, of Albuquerque, NM; and nieces Ernestine Marshall of Natchez, MS, Diane Mills of Edmond, OK, Cynthia Haney of Oklahoma City, OK, Karla Keller of Seattle, WA; niece by marriage Cynthia Bell of Norman, OK; and several great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, August 2, 2013 at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be at 12:30 PM on Saturday, August 03, 2013 in Restland Wildwood Chapel.
