Essie Marie Young's Obituary
YOUNG, ESSIE MARIE, who passed away on July 26, 2014, would have been 90 years old on August 12. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Floyd Young; one daughter, Linda Johnson; two grandchildren, Nathan and Rebekah; and a sister, Elsa Johnson and her three children. She was born in Christopher, Illinois and grew up outside of Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee. While attending business school in Toledo, Ohio, Marie met Floyd at church, and they were married in Norfolk, Virginia. Because of Floyd’s work, she had incredible experiences throughout the world. She and her husband were members of Sunset Church of Christ for 30 years. Marie was known for her welcoming and hospitable spirit, her deep faith, and her devotion to family. Services will be held at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Restland Wildwood Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service in the chapel.
