Esta Miller Vogel's Obituary
Esta Miller Vogel, died surrounded by family and close friends at her home in Dallas on Thursday, Oct 5, 2017 at the age of 85. She was born to the late Lucian and Laura Miller on May 23, 1932 in Hope, Arkansas.Esta was first and foremost a mother. She was deeply dedicated to her daughters and grandchildren and all she did centered around them. She was a loyal friend and relative whose quiet grace and compassion touched those who knew her. She was a faithful follower of Christ and a longtime member of St. Paul’s Evangelical & Reformed Church and regularly attended services until her health began to fail. Esta worked in partnership with her husband for years as a keypunch operator for mainframe computers and later in data entry for a small company in Dallas. She grew up in the country in Arkansas and felt most at home when surrounded by the simplicity and quiet of this landscape.Esta is survived by her daughters, Laura Vogel and Carla Vogel; her sister, Laura Jean Miller; her grandchildren Samuel and Morgan Zimmerman and her son-in-law Jeff Zimmerman. Esta also leaves behind several nieces and nephews as well as cousins who all loved her dearly. She is preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Charles Vogel; four brothers James, Lucian John, Kenneth and Reece Miller; and her sister Merle Adkins.Funeral services will be held at St. Paul’s Evangelical and Reformed Church, UCC at 6464 E. Lovers Lane 75214 on Thursday, Oct. 12th at 11:00 AM. A small reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to make donations to the church.
