Esther Goff Tubbs' Obituary
Esther Goff Tubbs, 99, of Frisco, went to be with her Lord and Savior In the early morning hours of March 20, 2018 in Plano, Texas. She was born in Crystal, Oklahoma November 29, 1918 to parents Rufus Lewis Goff and Florence Orr Goff. Esther was a 1934 graduate of Atoka High School. Following graduation, she moved to the Longview area to attend business school. It was in Longview that she met her future husband Odus Tubbs. They were married in May 1939 and shared nearly 67 years of a wonderful marriage together before his death in 2006. She is survived by son Richard and wife Lettye, daughter Laura Noteware and husband Jack, grandchildren Staci Tubbs Murto and husband Ed, Christopher Tubbs, and Kelly Noteware Tallo and husband Len. Also surviving her are her most precious great-grandchildren Ryan Murto, Ashlyn Murto, Peyton Tallo and special friends and family Nancy and Art Stewart, James and Margaret Mohr, Bennie, Sue and Vicki Hughes.Esther was a homemaker in the truest sense of the word – a wonderful, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a great cook and enjoying hosting friends and family at events in her home. Bridge was a big part of her life. She was always ready to play. Her main love was duplicate bridge, but she would play any kind just to be able to play. She was also active in the Rose of Sharon while they lived in Hideaway, Texas. Esther was a life-long Baptist and was currently a member of First Baptist Church Richardson.Special thanks to the doctors and nurses on 5th floor C at Plano Presbyterian Hospital, especially Irda and Caroline who not only ministered to our mother but to our family in the last days of her life. They were special angels during a difficult time.In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to the For Women Only Sunday School Class, First Baptist Church Richardson to support ongoing ministry projects.Memorial service will be on Monday, March 26, 2018 at 11 AM in the Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, Texas 75243, 972-238-7111.
