Ethel Madee Arbuthnot's Obituary
ARBUTHNOT, ETHEL M. (DEE) went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at the age of 94. Dee was born on Dec. 31, 1917 in Weston, Texas to Sydney and Mary Redden. She grew up in Melissa where she attended high school, played basketball and was voted most beautiful in her senior year and graduated in 1935. Dee married W. R. “Bud” Porter on November 30, 1935 and had three children; Billy E. Porter, Michael Don (Donnie) Porter and Judy Elaine Porter. She had numerous grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband Bud Porter of 44years and Johnny Arbuthnot of 7 years and son Donnie Porter. She retired from Texas Instruments after 20 plus years of service. She lived in Garland, Texas before moving into Colonial Assisted Facility January 2, 2002 in her remaining years. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Colonial Assisted Living facility and Hospice Plus. Heavens newest Angel will be missed! Visitation will be Friday, October 12, 2012 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 2:00 PM in Restland Abbey Chapel. Burial will follow at Restland Memorial Park.
