Ethel Marie Lloyd's Obituary
Ethel Marie Boykin Lloyd was born February 10, 1951 in Teague, Texas to the parentage of Martin Boykin and Florence Jones Boykin. She became a member of First Baptist South Teague at an early age. She attended J.A. Brooks Elementary, Booker T. Washington, and graduated from Teague High School in 1969. Ethel joined the Job Corps, and immediately after completion, she accepted her first job in banking in Worcester, Massachusetts. She later went to work for Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in Dallas. After leaving HUD, she worked for the Federal Government accepting assignments in Dallas, Boston, and Alaska. She retired in 2007.
Ethel married Anthony Lloyd January 17, 1992 in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica. She loved traveling.
Ethel departed this life on Sunday, February 16, 2020.
She is preceded in death by her Grandparents - Henry Boykin and Classie Robinson Boykin, Monroe Jones and Anna Red Jones; Parents - Martin Boykin and Florence Jones Boykin; Sisters – Willean Richards, Jearline Blakley, Ruby Watson, and Carrie Adams.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband - Anthony Lloyd; her loving mother-in-law – Elsie Lloyd; one sister: Arlessia Wilkes; two nephews: Charles Barkins (Jean), and Mark Richards; Nine nieces: Sherri Lampkin (Fred), Verlinda Collins (Byron), Yolanda Brown, Debra Mack (James), Pamela Richards, Renita Thomas, Cassandra Richards, Vicki Richards-Torres (Antonio), Sharon Fleeks (Lorenzo), and a host of great and great-great nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones.
The family of Ethel Marie Lloyd will receive visitors on Friday, February 28, 2020 From 6:00-8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 10:00 AM in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
