Ethel Virginia Patrick's Obituary
Ethel V. Patrick, was born to William P. Brooke and Elizabeth Brooke on February 3, 1929 in New York City. She had two brothers, Robert K. Brooke and William P. Brooke, Jr. She was married to John L. Patrick in August of 1946 and had four children, Kenneth, Ginny, Kathy, and Diane. She relocated to Texas in 1977. Ethel worked as an executive secretary for many different major corporations until her retirement in 1995. She was a devout Catholic, faithful wife and mother, devoted grandmother and great grandmother, beloved aunt, and a good friend. She loved to read, garden, and play games, especially BUNCO. Ethel went to her eternal home on Monday, October 14, 2019, and will be laid to rest next to her husband, John, at Restland Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. She is survived by her three daughters and their husbands, Virginia and Leonard Schmitt, Kathleen and Geoffrey Coates, and Diane and James Morton; her daughter-in-law, Deborah Patrick; her grandchildren, Dennis Patrick, Robert Patrick and wife Desi Lyon, Thomas Schmitt and wife Sindy Schmitt, Megan Coates, Andrew Coates, John Morton, and Jimmy Morton and great granddaughter, Arwyn Lyon, and many nieces and nephews. Ethel V. Patrick visitation will be held on Monday, October 21, 2019 at 5:00 PM with a Prayer & Rosary at 7:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Her funeral will take place on Tuesday, October 22, 2019, at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 7000 Morningstar Drive, The Colony, Texas, 75056.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ethel’s memory to memorials@stjude.org, or mailed to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105, or by phone at (800) 213-6584.
