ETHEL LEE PLAKE YOUNGMAN'S HISTORY

• DOD FEBRUARY 01, 2021 ROWLETT, ROCKWALL COUNTY, TEXAS
Ethel Youngman was preceded in death by her parents, PERRY & ADA DRYDEN PLAKE; her husband, CLARENCE "CEY" YOUNG MAN, SR.; her grandson RONALD DEEN YOUNGMAN JR.; her sisters, MARGARET PLAKE ENGELMANN, MILDRED "DUCK" PLAKE TODD, & SYBLE PLAKE CALLENIUS PATTERSON; her son-in-law, MORRIS "CORKY" ZACHARY.
Ethel leaves behind her family:
Her daughter DIANNE YOUNGMAN ZACHARY & grandchildren,
• BRANDON REID ZACHARY and great-grandson COLLIN REID ZACHARY (Kathryn)
• JESSICA ZACHARY IBARRA (Christian)
Her son RONALD DEEN YOUNGMAN, SR. & daughter-in-love, LINDA LAMBERT YOUNGMAN, and grand children
• JAMES BRENT YOUNGMAN (BARBARA) & great grandchildren JUSTIN (CAREE), TYLER, PARKER & great-great grandson LUCAS YOUNGMAN

Her son CLARENCE "LITTLE CEY" YOUNGMAN, JR.
• She served in the United States Navy as a Wave in WWII in their first group of women to join from Beaumont, Texas. After serving two and one-half years as a Bookkeeper 1st Class, she returned home to Beaumont where she met and married another Navy veteran, Cey Youngman.
• She loved raising her family as a stay-at-home mom,and was active in the PTA, rooting at sports and Choir events. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Garland, Texas, a hospital auxiliary for 15 years in Terrell, Texas; and a tough & tumble Volleyball Team in Garland, Texas.
• In 1968 she began work as a clerk at the Garland Main Post Office and remained there until May 1985 when she retired. She lost her husband Cey in October 1968 and considered her new Job a Godsend.
• Ethel retired from the Postal Service in 1985 she moved to the farm near Terrell, Texas with her daughter's family, and loved hosting family Thanksgivings and Christmas celebrations. She moved back to Garland, Texas in 2000 with Dianne and has lived with her almost continually until her death.
• Ethel was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at the young age of 90 years. She has had a deep and abiding love for her family and friends all her life made evident by the love and esteem in which she has been held by all.
A Service will be Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 12pm in the Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral home.
