Etheldreda Mirkes' Obituary
Born on March 8, 1925 in Washington, D.C. and passed away on November 9, 2015 in Lindale, Texas. Etherldreda, knows as “Grammy” celebrated her 90th year with a festive party attended by her family and friends. Dreda will be remembered for her kindness to all, her passion for music (as she had been a concert pianist at the age of 15), her love for knitting, her supply of gumdrops, and her zest for partying! She was pre- deceased by her husband of 40 years, Karl Richard Mirkes, and by her brother, Alexander Kaspar. She is survived by her four children: Marlene Johnsen and her husband, Niels; Richard Mirkes and his wife, Nancy; Georgianna May; and Kristina Wittu and her husband, John. Also surviving are her seven grandchildren; fourteen great- grandchildren; one great- great grandchild; and her brothers Henry Kaspar and his wife, Joanna, and Joseph Kaspar and his wife, Ruth. Graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Restland Memorial Park.
