Eugene M. Barton's Obituary
Eugene Monroe Barton, age 88, born on February 23, 1936, in St. Louis, MO, peacefully passed away on March 2, 2024, in Dallas, Texas. Eugene was the beloved son of Norman and Ruby Barton.
Eugene dedicated his life to serving his country and community. He proudly served in the Army and was a devoted member of the Dallas Elks Lodge #71. His commitment to giving back extended beyond his military service, as he was also involved in various charitable activities. Eugene's family and friends remember him for his kind and gentle nature, his unwavering dedication to his loved ones, and his strong sense of loyalty. He will always be cherished for the love and joy he brought into the lives of those around him.
On January 19, 1957, Eugene married the love of his life, Margaret A. Barton. Together, they shared a beautiful life and raised two wonderful children. Eugene was preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret, and their daughter, Cynthia A. Coleman. Eugene will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his surviving daughter, Diane Barton, his grandson Kyle Johnson, granddaughters Katie Spessard, Mary Coleman, and Laura Quiles, as well as his great-grandsons Nigale Quiles Jr. and Asher Quiles.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate Eugene's life will be held on March 22, 2024, at 10 AM at Restland Funeral Home at our Wildwood Chapel, located at 13005 Greenville Ave. in Dallas, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Elks National Foundation in Eugene's memory.
