May 29, 1928 – November 17, 2019BiographyEugene “Gene” L. HornPlease join us in celebrating the life of Gene who passed on to our Heavenly Father on Sunday, November 17, 2019. He was born on May 29, 1928 in Racine, WI to Fred and Gladys Horn.Gene was an Army Infantry Veteran of the Korean war and attended The Milwaukee School of Engineering.He married Kathryn “Katie” Horn on November 29, 1952. They moved to Garland, TX the summer of 1961. During his career Gene worked as a Computer Programmer for IBM, Service Bureau Corporation and Control Data before retiring in 1988.Gene and Katie where members of Good Shepherd Catholic Church until the founding of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Richardson. Gene was a long standing founding member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he was an active member in the church choir, Knights of Columbus and a Eucharistic minister. His life is celebrated by his loving family: daughter, Joanne and husband Kevin Olson of Bixby, OK, son Michael and wife Ann Horn of Edmond, OK, and daughter Karen and husband John Brinska of Oklahoma City, OK, eight grandchildren, and 3 great-grand children. Gene is also survived by sister, Janet Maisto and brother, Butch Horn.He is preceded in death by his wife Kathryn Horn.A Rosary will be celebrated on Monday, November 25 (7:00pm) with Funeral mass on Tuesday, November 26 (10:30am), both at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Richardson, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Knights of Columbus Council 8954 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 600 S. Jupiter Road, Richardson, TX 75081.He was loved dearly by his family and friends and will be missed very much
