Eugene Frederick Muenchau Sr.'s Obituary
MUENCHAU, SR., EUGENE F. Was born August 14, 1921 in Eagle, Nebraska to Fred and Rhoda Ann Roblyer Muenchau. Dad joined the Army in 1942 and re-enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1946. He retired in 1962 as a Senior Master Sergeant. Dad then worked another 21 years, retiring from the US Postal Service in 1983. He met Betty Darlene Kuck while home on leave. They were married on November 5, 1944 in Florence, South Carolina. Dad loved growing up on a farm in Nebraska, loved fishing, loved telling and writing stories, loved his kids and grandkids, but loved Mom the most. He is survived by his wife, Betty; his brother, Lowell Muenchau of Chadron, Nebraska; his children, Gene, Jr. and wife, Marlene, Dan and wife, Margaret, Cathy Doyle and husband, Dan, Ernie and wife, Daylia, and Beccy Ables and husband, Jim. He also leaves grandchildren: Eryn, Dustin, Emily, Grace, Nicci, Sarah, Chelsea, Laura and Ben; great grandchildren: Nate, Alexandria, and Paige. He was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister and daughter, Sandy Miller.
