Eula Mae Goff's Obituary
The Journey
On January 14, 1942, a baby girl named Eula Mae Yancy, began life's journey via her parents, Booker T. Yancy and Mary Black Yancy.
As a child she united with the Peters Chapel Baptist Church in Karnack, Texas under the pastorate of Reverend Bolden.
Eula graduated from George Washington Carver High School (Karnack, Texas) in 1960.
She received a degree in Home Economics from Prairie View A & M University. Her first teaching job was in Rockdale, Texas. Then she taught at Pemberton Junior High School in Marshall, Texas. Later she moved to Dallas, Texas and was employed with Texas Instrument and Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. Missing her first love, teaching, she worked as a substitute teacher until 2007.
While in Dallas, she united with Greater Saint John Primitive Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Reverend F. L. Livingston for sixteen years. Being led by the Holy Spirit, Eula united with the Community Bible Church under the pastorate of the late Dr. Ruben Connor, now pastored by his son, Pastor Ruben Connor Jr. She was a faithful member and taught Sunday School for sixteen years until her health failed.
She was a member of lota Phi Lambda Sorority where she received numerous plaques and awards.
Eula enjoyed cooking, sewing, caring for her flowers and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her parents Booker T. Yancy and Mary Black Yancy, Floyd Yancy (brother) and Willie Mae Yancy Henerson (sister). Left to keep her memories, her Husband Robert Goff of 58 years, sisters Mary Yancy Cheek, Dorothy Yancy Buchanan and Annie Yancy Norton (David), three nieces, six nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
