Eulys Ray Kimbrell's Obituary
On January 10, 2015, peacefully and surrounded by the family that loved him, Ray was called home to be with our Lord. Ray was born in 1935 on a cotton farm in Idalou, Texas during a 9-day sandstorm of the dust bowl days. He married in 1954 and graduated from Texas Tech in 1957 with a BS in Dairy Science. He had a 55-year career working to make food safe. He worked for Plains Creamery, Foremost, Diamond Alkali, and Chemidyne before founding his own firm, K-Klean Chemical Company. He sold K-Klean to DeLaval in 2000 and worked 9 more years in the industry. Ray taught hundreds of food sanitarians over the years, and published technical articles, pursuing food safety with a passion. He is survived by wife Donna, brother Don Kimbrell, daughter Diane Kimbrell Howell, and sons Ron & Rick Kimbrell. He is also survived by the grandchildren he loved so dearly: Cody, Coyt, Cade, and Claire Kimbrell; Anne and Grace Deal; Caroline Cunningham; Lauren Barnett; and one great-grandson Brody Barnett. Dear friends will miss him, especially those he made during his 45 years of devoted membership and service to the Waterview Church of Christ. The visitation for Eulys Kimbrell will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Restland Funeral Home.
