Euthal Earl Newby Jr.'s Obituary
A devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather, passed away on November 30, 2009. Born in Denison, Texas on October 13, 1926. Earl married Billie Ruth Sarratt on June 7, 1948 in Dallas, Texas. He served in the Navy during WWII in the South Pacific for two years and in the Korean War for two years. In 1946, he worked for the H&H Grocery Store in Dallas, Texas. He owned and ran the store from 1960-1968 before selling to Tom Thumb. He was a store director for Tom Thumb until his retirement in 1988. He was a deacon at Lake Highlands Baptist Church and a member since the late 1950’s. Earl is survived by his caring wife of 61 years, Billie; his brothers Billy Wayne Newby and Phil Newby, and their wives Jean and Aline; his brother-in-law Charles Sarratt and his wife Maxine; his son Bradley Newby and grandson Bradley Newby Jr.; his daughter Linda Stone, son-in-law Bill, grandson Matthew Stone, and granddaughter Lauren LaRocca and her husband Tony LaRocca. Funeral services will be at 12:30 pm Thursday, December 3 at Restland in the Wildwood Chapel.
