Eva Jean Starkey's Obituary
Eva Jean Starkey, age 89, of Garland, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026. She was born on November 16, 1936, in Grapeland, Texas, to Allie Nora Smith and Burles Henry Brown.
Eva was united in marriage to Bill Starkey on April 30, 1955. They shared many loving years together until his passing. Eva was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great‑grandmother who cherished time with her family and leaves behind many fond memories.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Starkey; her parents, Allie Nora Smith and Burles Henry Brown; her brothers, Pete Brown, Hill Brown, Harvel Brown, and Jack Brown; and her sisters, Aoma Montgomery, Alva Lee Wright, Aileen Huff, and June Shaver.
Eva is survived by her loving children, son Perry Don Starkey of Garland, Texas, and daughter Carla Jan Todd of Garland, Texas; four grandchildren, Corley Todd, Karen Starkey, Casey Todd, and Tierney Starkey; and seven great‑grandchildren, who were a source of great joy in her life.
Eva Jean Starkey will be remembered for her love of family, her kind spirit, and the legacy she leaves with those who knew and loved her.
