Evelyn Jo Allen's Obituary
Our mother, Evelyn Jo Allen at the age of 75, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2022, after a long series of illnesses. Fondly known by many as Jo, she was a fierce protector of her family. She was a strong-willed woman who loved the Lord and gave her children a beautiful foundation of knowing Him and for that we will be forever grateful. She was a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church where she served in many capacities before her health began to decline. After her retirement from Collins-Rockwell where she worked for more than 20 years, Jo enjoyed spending time developing her love of photography and spending time with family. She is pre-deceased in death by her mothers, Lutena Johnson-Ashford and Lucille Johnson-Flowers and sister Beverly Ashford. Left to cherish her memories are her sister Pamela Ashford of California; daughters Evelyn Yvette Samples, Darice Samples and Stacey Samples-McCoy and her loving son-in-law Ronald McCoy, Sr.; her adored grandchildren D’Ebonie Blaylock, Kevin Thompson, Jr., DeAsia McCoy, DeAndrea McCoy, DeAnna McCoy, Ronald McCoy, Jr.; and her great-granddaughter Kyra Fuery, as well as a host of other loving relatives and friends.
