Evelyn Lucille Blake's Obituary
Evelyn L. Blake, beloved daughter and mother passed away on March 21, 2024, in Sachse, Texas, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 30, 1937, in Lamar, Arkansas, to her devoted parents John Michelsen and Mildred (Price) Michelsen.
Evelyn was a kind and gentle soul who touched the lives of many with her warmth and compassion. She was a dedicated Sunday school teacher, sharing her faith and love with all who knew her. Her nurturing spirit extended not only to her own children but also to the countless students she mentored over the years. Evelyn's gentle demeanor and unwavering faith inspired all who knew her. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the love she shared with those around her.
On February 8, 1957, Evelyn married the love of her life, Harold Blake, in Macomb County, Michigan. Their union was a testament to enduring love and commitment, and together they raised a beautiful family. Evelyn was a talented seamstress and crocheter, finding joy and solace in the art of creating beautiful pieces with her hands. Her hobbies reflected her patience and attention to detail, qualities that defined her in every aspect of her life.
She is preceded in death by her faithful husband, Harold Blake, her beloved parents, John Michelsen and Mildred (Price) Michelsen, and her son, Kevin Blake. Evelyn is survived by her loving daughter, Robin Gerdes, and son, Craig Blake, who will always cherish her memory and carry her legacy forward.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home, located at 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX. A funeral service will follow the following day, Wednesday, March 27, 2024, beginning at 2 PM at the Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
