Evelyn Darcangelo Bower's Obituary
BOWER, EVELYN DARCANGELO – Born on October 10, 1930, an adventurous spirit to a depression-era family She graduated from high school in Fairfield, Texas and attended East Texas Baptist College where she majored in business before joining Greenville Avenue Bank in Dallas as executive secretary to the president. She met her future husband, Lawrence G. Darcangelo and married in 1953. She later joined Liquid Paper Corp. where she chaired and served on several committees. At the time of her retirement, she was procurement officer and assisted in developing international operations. Her action-packed life ended at her Mesquite home the morning of April 2 when she lost her battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her four children who provided loving care during her nine-month illness. She is preceded in death by her parents The Rev. Marshall O. Southerland, Sallie Southerland Bryant, husbands Larry Darcangelo and Edward Bower and brothers Dr. Arthur.R. Southerland and The Rev. Marshall O. Southerland, Jr. She is survived by Gary and Kathie Darcangelo, Karen Darcangelo, Susin and Clinton Carter, Nancy Darcangelo, grandchildren Jennifer Darcangelo, Aaron Darcangelo, Stephanie Castillio, Angela Garinger, Eric Tennison, Austin Colden and Cody Mowat, sister Dorothy, brother-in-law Emory Estes and several nieces and nephews. She has three great grandchildren and two more on the way. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 12:30 at Restland Funeral Home on Greenville Ave. A wake will be held at the home of Karen, Nancy, and Cody following the service.
