Evelyn "Juanita" Compton's Obituary
Evelyn “Juanita” Compton was born on December 27, 1944 in Dallas, Texas and died on December 21, 2019, six days shy of her 75th birthday. She graduated from W.W. Samuell High School in ‘63 and was a member of Church of Christ. She worked 11 years at KDFW-TV where during that time, she met and married her husband of almost 34 years. She retired at 65 after working at Baylor Pain Management. She is proceeded in death by her parents Thomas Reeder Jones and Virginia Faye Bell, also her sisters Tommy Joyce Conley and Virginia Jeannette Jones. She is survived by her husband Landy Ward Compton, daughter Carol Aneece Bishop, brother Thomas Reeder Jones, niece Latrice Tucker, nephews Lonnie, Larry, Leslie Tucker and Rodney, Todd, Lance, Kyle Conley. Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren. Great nieces and nephews. Juanita was very loving and adored by most everyone. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was probably best known as the family photographer as well as an outstanding photographer, winning numerous ribbons at the State Fair of Texas. Her other hobbies include pottery where she also won ribbons at the State Fair, scuba diving and underwater photography. She loved to landscape and grow her own tomatoes. Juanita also enjoyed to travel and take family vacations and she had an enormous love for animals, especially her dogs. Also there wasn’t a birthday or holiday missed where she didn’t send family members and friends greeting cards.
