Evelyn Lee Donnally's Obituary
Donnally, Evelyn Lee Passed away peacefully Wednesday evening October 12th surrounded by her grandchildren and only child, Don. She was 99. Evelyn was born in Corsicana, Texas in 1912. Her one hundredth birthday was only a few months away on February 25. She was married to the late Chester (“Ches”) Donnally and upon his death in 1972 remained a widow for nearly 40 years. She attended Gulfport School for Girls in Gulfport, Mississippi, and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Dallas. She attended SMU where she was a member of Phi Mu Sorority. Evelyn was proud to say she was a charter member of Park Cities Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of The Dallas Woman’s Club, Marianne Scruggs Garden Club, the Dallas Petroleum Club, Brook Hollow Golf Club and member of The Garden of the Gods Club in Colorado Springs. Her love of travel was legendry as was her love towards her church and her cherished grandchildren: Caroline Donnally, Chester (Chet) Donnally III, Christina Donnally and Jodi Donnally as well as her devoted son Chester (Don) Donnally Jr. and her daughter in law, Carol Donnally. Services will be held at Park Cities Presbyterian Church Chapel on Tuesday, October 18th at 4pm. Reception will follow in the church parlor. Pastor Ron Williams, her former neighbor, will conduct the services. The private burial will be at Restland Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Park Cities Presbyterian Church at 4124 Oak Lawn, Dallas, 75219.
