Evelyn Earle Wainscott's Obituary
Evelyn Earle Wainscott passed away peacefully on May 18, 2017 at The Villages of Lake Highlands in Dallas, Texas. She was 87 years old. Evelyn was born on August 9, 1929 in Ft. Thomas, Arizona to the late Ray and Cassie McEuen. She graduated from Ft. Thomas High School and attended Arizona State College in Tempe, Arizona in the 40’s and was voted an annual Sun Princess. On June 3, 1950, she married Robert Eugene Wainscott and they raised two children, Sharman and Brent. Evelyn taught at Wallace Elementary for many years and loved her Fourth graders, her colleagues, and the Lake Highlands community. She loved her church family at Lake Highlands Methodist Church and was very active in the life of that church. Evelyn was devoted to her family and was a proud grandmother to Lindsey Wainscott, of Charlotte, North Carolina. She was loved by many aunts and uncles, in particular, Randy Batson of Phoenix, Arizona and Kenneth Batson of New Mexico. Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and survived by her daughter, Sharman Admire of Jackson, MS. and son, Brent Wainscott of Charlotte, North Carolina, as well as her granddaughter, Lindsey Wainscott, also of Charlotte, North Carolina. The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to Jane Rodriguez, Evelyn’s companion, friend, and caregiver for the last few years. They would also like to recognize and thank the kind and caring staffs at White Rock Court and The Villages of Lake Highlands. Memorial services will be held at Restland Memorial Park on Tuesday, May 23, 2017. Services will begin at 11 am in the Abbey Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Evelyn’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
